Justin King, a YouTuber who goes by the name “Beau of the Fifth Column,” responds to the viral video of a Georgia police officer having a panic attack at a McDonald’s drive-thru, saying, “I imagine the fear [she felt] is a fraction of what black Americans feel when they get pulled over and they have to sit there and wait while their tags are ran, before they get to find out whether the cop who walks up to the window is going to be someone who fears for their life.” “That anxiety level that that officer has may be an indication that she needs to take a leave of absence. If you have that much anxiety waiting on line for an egg McMuffin, perhaps you shouldn’t be on the streets armed. I feel like that level of anxiety and fear may cause someone to fear for their life in a situation where it is not a rational fear and that may lead to tragic consequences.” “It’s time to put that gun away, you don’t want to hurt anybody.”
