The breach in the House Republican Party grew wider Monday morning, with Rep. Adam Kinzinger telling the National Press Club that Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy ignored his warnings that dangerous rhetoric could lead to violence at the Capitol building on January 6. He accuses McCarthy and whip Steve Scalise of politically “resurrecting” President Trump after the riot and notes: “He is the one that keeps talking about the big lie and the stolen election. He is the one who isn’t unifying. He is out of power and he is a loser but he is the one person that a lot of people fear.”
A few days before Jan 6, our GOP members had a conference call. I told Kevin that his words and our party’s actions would lead to violence on January 6th. Kevin dismissively responded with ok Adam, operator next question. And we got violence.

Kinzinger, who compared the GOP’s fight over whether Liz Cheney will remain in leadership to the sinking Titanic during an appearance Sunday on CBS, said history would judge Cheney favorably.
REP. ADAM KINZINGER: I think when it comes down to it, that is Liz Cheney’s — what she is being removed for is making it uncomfortable and being consistent. God bless her for having the consistency to tell the truth. Because history, in the long term, will write very well about her and people will have to stand up and do the right thing. The last thing I’ll say is this. The one person continually bringing this back up is not Liz Cheney, it is Donald Trump. Donald Trump was out of power after January 6, and then Kevin McCarthy went down, probably with Scalise, and went down and put the paddles on him, and resurrected him back to life. He tweets something yesterday about horse doping… And all this weird stuff… He is the one that keeps talking about the big lie and the stolen election. He is the one who isn’t unifying. He is out of power and he is a loser but he is the one person that a lot of people fear.
.@RepKinzinger on @RepLizCheney: “She’s being run out for one thing: her consistency. She said the same exact thing that Kevin McCarthy said on January 6, which is Donald Trump is responsible.”https://t.co/E2OMmLkIzQ pic.twitter.com/0Q6esZA0WR
