DW NEWS: Angela Merkel has again warned Germans that the fight against coronavirus is far from over and that the country will be in this battle for the long haul. The Chancellor has been addressing the Bundestag, the German Parliament, where she urged the public to remain extra cautious as the country begins to slowly open back up. She voiced concern about the extent to which restrictions have been eased in some states. But she also thanked the public for the way in which they have so far dealt with the crisis. “We’ll have to live with this virus for a long time,” Merkel said.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel:
“Nobody likes to hear this but it is the truth. We are not living through the final phase of this crisis, we are still at its beginning. We will still have to live with this virus for a long time. pic.twitter.com/BCbbrdZxT3
