Former Virginia Governor and former DNC chairman Terry McAuliffe endorsed former VP Joe Biden for president Saturday after it became apparent that Biden would win the South Carolina primary. “I’ve thought long and hard about this. For me, it’s about beating (President) Donald Trump, and to me, it’s an electability issue — who has the best shot of beating Donald Trump.” “I think Joe Biden has the best chance of winning Virginia in the general election. You can’t sit on the sidelines, so I’m going to go all-in for Joe Biden,” he said. He said that other candidates including “Pete and Amy and Tom Steyer and others” should drop out before Super Tuesday to give Biden a better shot at beating Bernie Sanders. “I’m hoping, tomorrow actually, some of the candidates decide to get out. If you do not have a pathway, let’s not wait until Super Tuesday,” he said bluntly during an appearance on CNN. “I worry in Virginia. We’ve got two new House members, Abigail Spanberger and Elaine Luria, in very tough districts,” he said. “Joe Biden will be the best person at the top of the ticket to make sure we keep those seats.”
