President Trump tweeted Tuesday about this report which aired on One America News Network accusing Martin Gugino, a 75-year-old man who was hospitalized after being shoved to the ground by a police officer at a protest in Buffalo last weekend, of being an “ANTIFA provocateur.” “I watched, he fell harder than was pushed. Was aiming scanner. Could be a set up?” the president wondered.
Buffalo protester shoved by Police could be an ANTIFA provocateur. 75 year old Martin Gugino was pushed away after appearing to scan police communications in order to black out the equipment. @OANN I watched, he fell harder than was pushed. Was aiming scanner. Could be a set up?

The report, which is unavailable on any of OANN’s social media pages or website, suggests Gugino is using his cell phone to intercept or jam police radio transmissions and accuses him of exaggerating his fall. There appears to be no evidence on the video or in the report of what Mr. Gugino was doing with his cell phone besides holding it in his right hand. OANN’s report cites this article from the Conservative Treehouse which also presents no evidence for the claim. Two Buffalo police officers were charged with assault after the video of them shoving Mr. Gugino and leaving the old man bleeding on the ground went viral:
